SHOCKING: Your Boss is Watching You! AI Monitoring Technology on the Rise in the Workplace

In a bizarre turn of events, companies are increasingly resorting to artificial intelligence (AI) to keep tabs on their employees. The demand for employee surveillance software has skyrocketed by a staggering 54% between March 2020 and June 2023, according to research. And guess what? More than half of employees are well aware of this “Big Brother” type of monitoring!

Apparently, being under constant surveillance has taken a toll on employees’ mental health. A whopping 32% of employees who know they are being watched reported their mental health as fair or poor, compared to just 24% of those who are not being monitored. Furthermore, 45% of the monitored employees claim that their workplaces have a negative effect on their mental well-being, whereas only 29% of those not being watched feel the same.

The methods of surveillance have evolved from simple badge swipes to AI-powered technologies that track employees’ online behavior, communication, and even their screen activity. Apps like Traqq and Time Doctor have taken it to the next level, reporting on how employees spend their time – down to the last second. Talk about invasion of privacy!

But here’s the kicker – most Americans are NOT cool with this level of tracking. In fact, a whopping 81% of workers find AI monitoring technology to be a breach of privacy and feel that they are being inappropriately watched. And can you blame them? This has the potential to sour relationships between employers and their employees, creating an atmosphere of distrust and anxiety.

Sure, there are a few employees who are optimistic about this idea of surveillance. Some believe that workplace security would improve (49%) and inappropriate behavior would decrease (46%). But on the whole, the consensus is clear – the negative effects of monitoring far outweigh the positives.

So, the question is, do you want to be watched like a hawk at work? Do you constantly want someone breathing down your neck, questioning your every move? Or do you believe in privacy and trust, creating a healthy work environment?

Tell us what you think in the comments below! We want to hear your thoughts on this “Brave New World” of AI monitoring in the workplace. It’s time to make your voice heard!
