Amazon Unveils AI Tool to Help Sellers Generate Product Copy

Sellers have already been utilizing OpenAI’s ChatGPT to write listings, come up with catchy titles, and brainstorm new product ideas. Amazon has also begun using AI to summarize customer reviews for certain products.
The introduction of these AI tools is expected to make it easier for sellers to stand out among the competition on Amazon’s vast third-party marketplace. Since its launch in 2000, the third-party marketplace has become a crucial aspect of Amazon’s e-commerce business, contributing to more than 50% of its overall retail sales.
Amazon’s move is a response to the growing interest in consumer-facing AI applications, such as ChatGPT and Google’s chatbot Bard. Incorporating AI into various areas of the business has been part of Amazon’s plan, according to CEO Andy Jassy.
While Amazon has not released its own chatbot, the company has focused on utilizing generative AI in its retail and devices businesses. Additionally, Amazon Web Services customers can access a generative AI service called Bedrock.
