Their startup caught the attention of prestigious startup accelerator Y Combinator, and they were accepted into the program. Gnanakumar even compared it to getting a “degree,” saying that Y Combinator is a “focal point for talent.”
Given his newfound success in the startup world, Gnanakumar made the bold decision to drop out of college altogether. “Y Combinator is a good enough proxy for a degree,” he said confidently. “I don’t have plans to go back, so it’s safe to say I’m an official dropout.”
