Discover the Surprising New Development Indicator of the Future!

Pratyush Kumar: The speed at which tech is moving in this sector, we may get closer to Artificial General Intelligence soon, where an intelligent agent could learn to accomplish any task that human beings can possibly do. There are those who say that the tech may not be moving that fast but that is a debate for another day. We at Sarvam AI are interested in the democratisation of access to AI, and this could come from two axes. One is with cost – it should be affordable, and secondly, it should have the right kind of use cases or applications relevant to an Indian context. The impact of AI wouldn’t be uniform across all domains. Some like education would see a radical shift, but in other domains it is for those subject matter experts to build applications to utilise the power of AI and for changes to happen.

Kumar envisions interactive AI systems in education but emphasizes the need for a massive curation of data in Indian languages for large language models to work effectively in sectors like health and agriculture. He talks about the need for copious and diverse Indic language content for large language models to function optimally. According to Kumar, LLMs using voice interfaces will make it easy for Indians to interact with the models. In the long run, AI’s impact on various domains could revolutionize the way we live and experience these sectors. By analyzing existing and creating new sets of data, AI can help solve India-specific problems and benefit different areas.

While India-specific AI models might not be necessary for the future, the applications built on those models will likely be region-specific. As of now, Indian languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali have substantial amounts of content available online for the large language models to work on, yet the need for further digitization and higher quality content remains.

What do you think about Pratyush Kumar’s vision for AI in the Indian market and the groundbreaking advancements in AI technology for sectors like education, health, and agriculture? Do you think AI will significantly impact these sectors in the near future? Let us know in the comments below!
