McDonald’s has been testing AI-powered ordering in their drive-thru lanes since 2019, while Del Taco, Carl’s Jr., and Hardee’s are expanding the use of conversational-AI voice assistants.

Taco Bell is also jumping on the AI bandwagon, testing conversational AI at the drive-thru to potentially automate ordering. These advancements indicate a major shift in the restaurant industry towards embracing technology, ultimately improving customer experiences and boosting efficiency.
