**AI Predicts Future Life Span and Personalities with Startling Accuracy**
A new, advanced artificial intelligence called Life2vec has been demonstrated to accurately predict the life spans, career paths, and personal traits of people in Denmark. The AI uses a data set of 6 million citizens, containing details about their addresses, education records, medical records, and personality tests. Life2vec was trained over seven years, between 2008 and 2015, and was then tested on a subset of 100,000 people.
When tasked with predicting which of the chosen subjects had died between 2016 and 2020, the AI was correct nearly 79% of the time, even when it didn’t take medical records into account. Researchers were impressed at the AI’s predictive capabilities, particularly in determining whether a person considered themselves introverted or extroverted and whether they would emigrate within the next four years.
**AI Predictions Come With Caveats**
Despite its accurate predictions, researchers caution that this AI might not be accurate for people outside of Denmark due to differing social and environmental factors. Nevertheless, the potential applications of the technology are vast. It could be used by governments and scholars to assess the impact of social policies and, in the future, could even aid in predicting early educational struggles in children and providing appropriate support and intervention.
But ethical concerns remain, and there are many questions that need to be answered. Should we rely on machines to predict and shape our behavior? What kind of implications would AI predictions have on our social systems and personal decision-making? It all depends on how we use this technology. Will it be for the welfare of people, or for something else?
